Laws and Rules: Essentials for Florida Respiratory Therapists

The history of respiratory therapy's origins and its development as a licensed healthcare profession in both the US and Florida will be covered in this course on the practice of respiratory therapy in Florida. Ethics in respiratory therapy is also covered in this course, including providing medically appropriate treatments and concerns about kickbacks and/or the perception of improper behavior. Along with updates on continuing education needs and regulations about citizenship, licensure, and license renewals, this course also covers respiratory treatment regulations. This course concludes by discussing the situations in which the Florida State Licensure Board for Respiratory Therapy may contemplate disciplinary action and the potential consequences of such a decision.
